Up to 2X Faster
Imagine if there was a way for your teen to have straight, healthy teeth without all the hassles associated with metal braces. Invisalign can do this. Our innovative SmartTrack® material offers precise, predictable results you can count on. And it’s nearly invisible, making your teen’s treatment as inconspicuous as possible.
Invisalign will enhance your teen’s self-confidence because it’s fast, comfortable, and effective. And since Invisalign never needs tightening, there are far fewer orthodontic appointments, saving you time that you’d otherwise be spending on frequent office visits.
Invisalign can fix a variety of dental problems, including:
When the upper teeth close over the lower teeth.
when the lower teeth close over the upper teeth.
when the jaws don’t line up.
when there are large spaces between teeth.
when the top and bottom teeth don’t meet.
when there isn’t enough room to fit all of your teeth naturally.
Faster, More Efficient
We use our iTero Element scanner® to create a digital 3D model of your teen’s teeth, allowing us to customize each set of aligners. That way, each aligner will apply the perfect amount of pressure to guide your teen’s teeth to the correct position.
By moving the patient’s teeth precisely along the right path to a perfect smile, Invisalign is able to straighten your teen’s smile up to twice as fast as alternative treatments.
Our advanced imaging technology also gives your teen the opportunity to see what the final results of their treatment will look like before we begin straightening their smile.
For optimal results, your teen will need to wear their aligners for 20 to 22 hours per day. This leaves an extra two to four hours when the aligners can be removed.
For your convenience, Invisalign clear aligners are easy to apply and remove. If your teen has football practice or dinner with friends, they can simply remove their aligners and replace them once they’re finished.
Sometimes, teens might forget to put their Invisalign aligners back on, but we have a solution for that. Invisalign features a blue dot indicator that tells you how long your teen has been wearing their aligners.
Fewer Dentist Appointments,
More Time for You
We typically schedule checkups for our Invisalign patients every six to eight weeks. During these visits, Dr. Grussmark will monitor the progress of your smile, making adjustments to your treatment plan as necessary.
Unlike metal braces, Invisalign doesn’t involve wires or brackets that can break or become detached, so you won’t need to schedule any sudden emergency appointments. Instead, you and your teen will spend less time at the orthodontist’s office and more time doing the things you enjoy.
Live on the Move
Every facet of Invisalign care is designed to provide outstanding results, from our advanced technology to our customized treatment planning to our virtually invisible aligners. Invisalign will allow your teen to smile with confidence — and they’ll never have to experience the embarrassment and inconvenience of metal braces.
Frequently Asked Questions
How old do you need to be for Invisalign Teen?
Invisalign Teen is designed for patients who have permanent dentition, meaning those who have already lost all their baby teeth. As a result, most patients who are younger than 12 years old won’t qualify. Patients around 14 years old will typically be eligible for this treatment.
If you aren’t sure about your son or daughter’s eligibility, Dr. Grussmark can perform a thorough evaluation of their teeth and determine the ideal treatment plan based on their individual needs. He’ll also discuss other treatment options if necessary.
How do I know if my teen is wearing their aligners enough?
To ensure successful results, your teen will need to wear their aligners for 20 to 22 hours per day. Many parents wonder how they can keep track of their teen’s treatment and make sure they’re following instructions.
Thankfully, the aligners feature a blue dot indicator to help you monitor your teen’s treatment. If the small blue dot doesn’t fade by the end of the day, you’ll know they aren’t wearing their aligners enough.
How much does Invisalign Teen cost?
The exact cost of your teen’s treatment will depend on a variety of factors, such as how many aligners your teen’s personalized treatment requires. Dr. Grussmark will provide you with a more accurate treatment cost at the initial consultation.
On average, Invisalign costs a bit more than traditional braces. However, the many benefits of this treatment over uncomfortable metal braces make it well worth the investment.
What is the difference between Invisalign and Invisalign Teen?
There are a few differences between Invisalign and Invisalign Teen:
- Blue Dot Indicators: Every set of Invisalign teen aligners features a blue dot on the back. While not visible when the aligners are in use, this dot can be used to track the treatment and provide a visual indicator of how often the aligner is being worn.
- Number of Aligners: Teens are more likely to need replacement aligners, so Invisalign Teen includes more aligners than regular Invisalign. If an aligner goes missing, there are many replacements available.
- Crafted For a Growing Mouth: Invisalign Teen takes into account that teens’ dental composition continues to grow and change. However, patients must still have all of their adult teeth, as baby teeth can make the creation and treatment of Invisalign difficult.
Are there dietary restrictions with Invisalign Teen?
Unlike traditional metal braces, treatment with Invisalign Teen doesn’t require any dietary restrictions. Because the aligners are removable, your teen can simply take them out at mealtimes. They should be removed when your teen drinks or eats anything with the exception of plain water.
Eating or drinking fluids other than plain, cool water while wearing aligners may lead to damage, which could set your teen’s treatment back significantly. It’s also essential that they rinse their mouth and the aligners after a meal to eliminate any bacteria or food particles.
Are there sports restrictions with Invisalign Teen?
Your teen can wear their clear aligners while playing low-risk and low-intensity sports such as soccer, baseball, and gymnastics.
However, if they play sports that may require a mouthguard, such as hockey or football, it’s best to remove their aligners beforehand. As long as your teen wears them for 20 to 22 hours per day, it’s fine to remove their aligners for sports.
